What is blow molding technology?


Also known as blow molding, raw materials are extruded or injected to form plastic preforms. Place it in the open mold while it is still hot, and after closing the mold, introduce compressed air into the billet to inflate it and tightly adhere to the inner wall of the mold. After cooling, demold it to form various hollow blow molded products.
What is injection molding process?
A method of industrial product production modeling. Products usually use rubber injection molding and plastic injection molding. Injection molding can also be divided into injection molding, compression molding, and die-casting methods. Injection molding machine (abbreviated as injection machine or injection molding machine) is the main molding equipment that uses plastic molding molds to produce various shapes of plastic products from thermoplastic or thermosetting materials. The difference between blow molded and injection molded products


In blow molding, the billet is formed by the machine head under low pressure and inflated at low pressure, mostly 0.2-1.0 MPa. Therefore, the residual stress of the product is small, and it has high resistance to various strains such as tension, impact, bending, and environmental factors, and has good usability. In injection molding, the melt needs to pass through the mold runner and gate under high pressure of 15-140 MPa, which can lead to uneven stress distribution. Blow molded plastics, such as PE, have a much higher relative molecular weight than injection grade plastics. The wall thickness of the product is uniform and consistent, and there is no need for post-processing. The product has no seam lines and minimal waste edges. Blow molded products are hollow, so their weight is lighter, while injection molded products have more structural components, so their weight is relatively heavier than blow molded products.


Advantages of blow molding process
Hollow blow molding machines have a small footprint, simple structure, and easy operation, requiring only 3-4 people.
Blow molded products are generally made of high molecular weight high-density polyethylene resin, which is extruded and blow molded in one go. The molding process is fast and thorough; The product is fully formed, with stable internal quality and performance.
Generally, a hollow blow molding machine can produce an average of 18-20 plastic water buckets per hour. For example, a 2000L water bucket weighing 40Kg can produce 8-9 pieces per hour. 1-2 workers can proficiently operate the fully automatic hollow blow molding machine, which is easy, labor-saving, and fast to operate.
The product is lightweight, easy to handle, long-lasting, durable, wear-resistant, and drop resistant. Generally, it can have a multi-layer structure, and the defects caused by the fusion of plastic melt in each layer are staggered, greatly improving the impact resistance of the plastic bucket.


The multi-layer structure of the hollow blow molded plastic bucket has multiple concepts: the outer layer is dark (blue), which can resist ultraviolet rays and light aging, and the inner layer is natural resin to ensure the purity of the contents and better use. The middle inner layer is made of recycled materials, which comply with the recycling co extrusion (RECOM) rules and are environmentally friendly. The outer layer is made of new raw materials while ensuring overall quality.
Hollow blow molded plastic drums are made of high molecular weight high-density low-pressure polyethylene raw materials, which have the characteristics of high rigidity, creep resistance, wear resistance, and environmental stress cracking resistance. It can be widely used in packaging industries such as petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, and food.
